Vegan cuisine is slowly but surely becoming more popular on Long Island. With restaurants popping up every year, interest has been quickly spreading. Even if you aren’t a full blown Vegan, it definitely offers a great opportunity to try something new. My first true vegan experience on Long Island was at a simple but delicious spot called Three Brothers Vegan Cafe along with three other sister locations located in Farmingdale, Rockville Centre, and Lynbrook. What these guys offer is a completely new perspective on not only a different way of dining but a fun way to incorporate ingredients that you might not have thought could have been done originally. From Tofu Crab Cakes to Seitan Parmesan, chances are you can have your favorite Italian dish wish a vegan twist. I definitely recommend sharing an order of their Buffalo Cauliflower to start!

Now, before we even begin, let me just place this full disclosure on here. Bareburger is not a “vegan spot” but they do have a wide variety of vegan options to the point where even a strict vegan eater can enjoy their experience here. At first, it was difficult to choose between the meat side and the vegan side due to the fact that the entire menu looked delicious. I decided to try out the “Big Bopper” and let me tell you, I was happy I did. With a quarter pound beyond meat patty, tempeh bacon, american cheese, and their house special sauce, I knew I stumbled upon something pretty cool when I saw how extensive both menus were. As I’m writing this piece, I’m currently on the Keto diet so if bread isn’t your friend, I highly recommend asking them for the green wrap which is steamed collard green instead of its bread friend, the bun. Not only does the ambiance have a cool vibe, but their efforts for sustainability and food are something to look deeper into. Each location is actually built using recycled materials making every spot different.
