Let’s take a trip to my hometown of Bay Shore for this burger spot. Right in the middle of Main Street, you’ll come across this popping spot filled with some pretty epic burgers along with almost endless variety of beers. A friend and I decided to meet here since I had a bad craving for a juicy burger but what I didn’t know was what they were up to in that kitchen. I figured I would try my hand at their Whiskey Burger which is topped with Jameson infused bacon, cheddar cheese along with a whiskey sauce to bring it all together. Let’s not forget about their Fire House burger either which has asadero cheese and a roasted jalapeno popper finished off with their homemade tomato jam. It’s the perfect synergy of sweet and savory but don’t take my word for it. What I recommend is getting either the Truffle Fries or Cajun Fries on the side. This spot does the trick with tons of tv’s, great burgers, and almost every type of beer you could think of.

boom burger | Westhampton Beach, ny | boomburgerwhb.com

If you’re willing to take the trip out east, you’ll find one of my favorite burger joints on a corner street of West Hampton Beach. It’s the perfect mix of 50’s style bites with some cool twists to catch you off guard. As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice an entire wall filled with their signature burgers and let me tell you, each one is next level in its own way. After all, who wouldn’t want to take out a double cheddar burger topped with crispy onions, mac n’ cheese with a side of cheesy bacon waffle fries? It’s the perfect spot to bring the kids since there’s plenty of sweet treats as well like a delicious fried PB&J or some deep fried Pop Tarts. Boom Burger is the perfect stop to either start or end your day out east. I may or may not be guilty on heading over here twice in a day.

rex burger | mineola, ny | www.therexburgerandlobster.com

Now this spot holds a special place in my heart since it’s actually one of the first places that I’ve ever photographed food at and let me tell you, pictures are worth a thousand words or bites in this case. Their Surf & Turf burger, also known as the Filet Mignon sandwich will have you feeling some type of way. Starting off with a buttery bun which starts with the most tender piece of filet mignon you could imagine followed by huge chunks of fresh Maine lobster finished with melted American Cheese. This burger spot is located right in Mineola near Chaminade High School and the area is filled with little gems right in the surrounding area. Take my advice with this last piece; you can’t leave empty handed without one of their homemade milk shakes. My favorite milkshake you ask? Ask for the Strawberry Shake. You’re welcome.

all american burger | massapequa, ny |

If you’re from Long Island, you know about this iconic spot. All American is about as classic as classic gets. With a burger spots that’s been around since 1963, you can feel pretty confident that they know what they are doing when it comes to a good burger. With a 2016 Best Burger Award by Best of LI, you better believe that you are about to leave satisfied and ready to come back. Whether you’d like to crush their classic burger or decide to fill that stomach with a quarter pounder with cheese, it really doesn’t matter. The real recipe here is pretty simple: quality ingredients with super affordable prices.

coastal kitchen and DAIQUIRI bar | bay shore, ny

This place is the absolute essence of what a TRUE Long Island vibe. From the second you walk in, you can’t help feel the summer vibe even in the dead of winter and as a Long Islander, we pretty much crave the sun like we do a good burger. With a Pat LaFrieda burger, cheddar, house cured ham, topped with a fresh grilled piece of pineapple, you’ll take a step back and wonder why you haven’t had this before. You can’t forget the mango-habanero ketchup and perfectly toasted brioche bun either. Remember that endless debate about that whole pineapple and pizza thing? I have a strong feeling that there won’t be much debate with this guy. When you’re done eating, grab one of their dope daiquiris while you play a game of pool or two.
